In Samoa, an island country in the South Pacific, rhythm, dancing, singing, and music are integral to the culture. The Sasa is an energetic Samoan dance performed by men and women. The dancers movements reflect activites from their daily life such as paddling, cracking a coconut, making nets and rope, climbing trees, making food and others. We had a go at making our own Tapa Designs. We used 3 different colours in pastal and then dyed over the top. We had a quick go at putting our own Sasa dances together today.
